Group Game 1: Rovers 1 – 1 FC Lakeside
A closely contested game, with Tom and Josh combining well to restricted Lakeside. However, Lakeside had an early chance when a free kick was awarded against the Rovers keeper for kicking the ball from hand (did out coach not read the rules)?. Lakeside then took the lead when Ed fumbled a high ball into the goal as he misread a strong gust of wind, although he did also make some great saves! Rovers showed good character and battled hard to equalise, with Jack eventually scoring with a lob over the keepers head, after two keepy uppies.
Group Game 2: Rovers 1 – 0 Cleeve Colts B
This was a game that Rovers dominated but could not finish their chances. Ollie, Jack and Ronan all missed good chances. The score was 0-0 at half time when Dom arrived. He was bursting with energy and made a number of good runs down the wing, narrowly missing a one on one with the keeper. Then after good passing on the right he dribbled into the area, and scored from the rebound after his initial shot was saved. Jack was injured after an off the ball tackle and Dom and Ollie combined well to make more chances, but failed to add to the score.
Group Game 3: Rovers 1 – 0 St Marks
A very physical game with some rough tackling and unwanted verbals from St Marks. However, Rovers were always in control of the game, with Tom making a solo run down the left wing. But Rovers could not score until Jack made a good run down the left wing. His cross was deflected into his own goal by the St Marks No 10. Rovers then pressed hard and were awarded a penalty for a trip on Jack. However, his penalty kick was saved by the keeper but Rovers held on for the win.
Rovers came top of their group, with St Marks taking second place.

Semi-Final: Rovers 0 – 1 Leckhampton A
This was a tight match with Rovers matching Leckhampton in ability and chances. Leckhampton took the lead with a good headed corner after poor marking from Rovers. However, Rovers came back well committing more players to attack and Ronan and Jack went close. The best Rovers chance fell to Dom but he shot narrowly wide from the edge of the area after a good layoff from Jack.
Once again Rovers went home with no trophies, effectively finishing third in the Tournament after St Marks lost to Cleeve Colts A in the other semi-final (we had beated St Marks in the Group game). The Final was between Leckhampton A and Cleeve Colts A and finished in a 1-1 draw after extra time, despite Leckhampton scoring first. Leckhampton won the trophy on a penalty shoot out, their goalie scoring the winning penalty. The Plate final was won by Churchdown Panthers who beat FC Lakeside 1-0 in the final.
