Cup Semi Final: Charlton Rovers 2 Southside Tigers 1
A difficult match against an impressive Southside team who topped their group. However, excellent team defending by Rovers kept Southside down to long range shots from the restarts. Dominic and Tom C were excellent in attack, with Dominic in particular making a number of excellent runs down the right wing. The first goal came from a Dominic cross that was not cleared by the Southside defence. The ball fell to Tom C at the back post who slotted the ball home to take Rovers into the lead. Rovers then extended their lead when Tom C expertly chipped the ball into the goal with his left foot! Southside pressed hard and pulled a goal back after Rovers failed to clear their penalty area, but Rovers held on for the win.
Cup Final: Charlton Rovers 1 Lakeside 0
A tight contest, but excellent defending from Andrew (goalkeeper), Joel, Henry, and Ronan kept Lakside down to a single chance on goal. Tom D also made an excellent sliding tackle in defence to stop a dangerous Lakeside run down the left wing. In attack Dominic, Tom C and Jack always looked dangerous. Dominic then scored a well deserved goal and had another shot saved at point blank range by the Lakeside keeper. Louis then came on as striker and forced another excellent save. In the end a deserved win for Rovers to claim their second trophy of the season.
